anatomy of a hard disk failure

I normally don't read my event logs on my computer but in trying to diagnose what happened to my hard drive which contains all my pictures, recorded tv, and music, I took a look. I find the error logs way too detailed for any benefit.
things like this:
The PnP-X IP Bus Enumerator service entered the running state. Big deal, right?

Here's what happened to my hard disk:

I haven't had much to say lately. I'm working at a spot located in downtown Seattle and it's nice to play the tourist whilst I can. I've been getting lunch at the Pike Place Market - my favorite places for lunch are the two fish & chips places, Emmett Watson's Oyster Bar and Jack's. I visited Victor Steinbrueck (he's the man credited with saving Pike Place Market from destruction) park for the first time. It's a nice lunch venue if you ever get the chance on a nice, sunny day.
