blogs

In response to David (& Rob's) blog, I present my incidental learning through jobs I've had the past several years:

gardening, films of the late 1999s, accountants/accounting, galaga, food (esp. ham), birds, cats, murder she wrote, gyms, gardening, running, good eats, the KLF is gonna rock ya.

Maybe I need to read more blogs.

troll-caught salmon

When I was working at Food Services of America (where I was in charge of building a new website,) all the decision-makers were elsewhere so I was the last one around in office. Being the last one in the office, I was asked to be an extra person at a marketing meeting -- they were trying to sell a CMS package. That's Content Management System - it's used for making website updating easy. Just put text in this spot and bam!

I was excited to go to my first big meeting... but near the end of the meeting, the slick salesman says, "Oh yeah, so you punch in alt-R and a wizard pops up and guides you through the process..." This is the point where I start giggling.

"Did I say something funny?"
"No...I was thinking of something else...sorry..."
"so anyways, then you can upload pictures..."
but I can't stop giggling.
"ok, seriously, what's funny?"

Recently I've been seeing signs that say "Troll Caught Salmon." All I can think of -- and it cracks me up every time -- is an evil troll.
